Bayern Munich celebrated its 2021-2022 Bundesliga title win at a public gathering on Sunday, which included words from manager Julian Nagelsmann and multiple players.

Robert Lewandowski also took some time to speak a day after Bayern Munich’s final league match of the season that culminated in a 2-2 draw result against VfL Wolfsburg. The Polish international lauded his teammates for simply making his life “easier” on the pitch and also commemorated on just how grand of an achievement it is for the club to win 10 straight league titles.

“I'm doing what I love the most: scoring goals and winning,” Lewandowski said. “Also in this team where I get so many assists and passes. That makes it easier for me to score goals. 10 times German champions is something special, a legendary story. That's for you (the fans) too.”

Lewandowski did not go on to touch on his future at Bayern Munich, which was the talk of the town within the club on Saturday. The Polish striker, who has one more season remaining on his contract, noted after the fixture against Wolfsburg that he does not plan on signing a contract extension deal with the club. On the other hand, Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn mentioned that the club still plans on keeping him for next season.

Amid the ongoing extension saga between the two sides, Barcelona has emerged as a possible destination for Lewandowski. Barca club officials have reportedly already met with Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, and would be interested in signing the veteran forward in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Lewandowski capped off the campaign with a Bundesliga-leading 35 goals, and he also notched three assists in 34 matches played.
