Houston Rockets superstar shooting guard James Harden is about to become just the third player in NBA history to average at least 30 points, five rebounds and five assists per game in consecutive seasons.

The other two players to accomplish this feat are Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson.

Last season when he won the MVP award and led the Rockets to the best record in the NBA, James Harden put up 30.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists in the regular season.

This season, Harden is averaging 36.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 7.6 assists. The Beard is going to lead the NBA in scoring again and could very well win his second-straight MVP.

Harden has single-handedly brought the Rockets from the 14th spot in the Western Conference standings to the top. Entering Monday, Houston is 53-28, which is good for third place in the West.

Harden has recorded 33 double-doubles, seven triple-doubles, nine 50-plus point games and two 60-plus point performances. The Rockets' floor general is truly one of the most prolific offensive weapons we have seen in NBA history.

When you can join a list that only has Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson on it, you are a once-in-a-generation type player. Harden has his detractors, but there's no doubting what he's done for the Rockets these past two seasons.
