News broke on Friday that Saints superstar running back and fantasy football stalwart, Alvin Kamara, would be missing his second consecutive game, via Dov Kleiman on Twitter.

In terms of on-the-field issues, it gives the Eagles an edge in a matchup between two teams fighting for the final wild-card spot in the NFC. Off the field, it puts the fantasy managers who currently have Kamara as their number one running back in jeopardy of a loss this week. Here are three players who you can plug into your lineups to hopefully avoid the loss that many fantasy managers will undoubtedly get this week after the injury to Kamara.

3. Saints RB Mark Ingram

If you have Kamara, there is a good chance that you have also acquired Ingram at this point, and if you have, he is an easy plug-and-play. Not only did Ingram receive the early-down work in his only start for the Saints since his return to the team that drafted him, but he also received six targets out of the backfield. Fire Ingram up in the slot you had allotted to Kamara and thank us later.

2. 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr.

Wilson Jr. returned from a lengthy absence last week against the Rams and promptly handled ten carries in what was actually his first game action of the 2021 season. This week, Wilson has even more opportunity for touches as 49ers RB Elijah Mitchell will most likely miss this Sunday's game against the Jaguars due to a thumb injury. Wilson is an easy plug-and-play RB2 in fantasy football this week.

1. Dolphins RB Myles Gaskin

Going against a Jets defense that has been gashed on the ground over the past month more than any other team in the NFL, this one seems like an easy one. But, as Gaskin has struggled to get things going on the ground in 2021, his fantasy numbers have left people with trepidation on whether to fire him up this week. If you were on the fence about Gaskin this week, consider this–he has had an absolute floor of 6.5 fantasy points per game in 2021 and has had the passing game work to merit an RB3 ranking each week. So, if he is able to attack the Jets even slightly as well as the past month's teams have gotten after them, then  Gaskin will be one of the best fantasy players of the week.
