New Orleans Saints fans are still down in the dumps over the way the NFC Championship Game ended, as many feel that the Saints lost because of a bad non-call at the end of regulation.

However, quarterback Drew Brees is turning the negative into a positive, telling all of New Orleans to move forward and be better people in general:

One can only imagine what Brees and the Saints players are feeling, and Saints fans are undoubtedly feeling a similar type of pain.

After all, this looked like the Saints' year. They won 13 games during the regular season, finishing with the best record in the NFL. They then took down the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. They jumped out to a 13-0 lead over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game and looked primed for a rout.

But, then, New Orleans' offense stalled, and the Rams climbed back into the game, eventually tying the score at 20 in the fourth quarter. The Saints then had the ball in the red zone late in the game, and on a third down, Brees threw a pass to Tommylee Lewis. But Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman came over and clearly hit Lewis before the ball arrived. He also blatantly hit him helmet-to-helmet. No penalty was called, and New Orleans had to settle for a field goal for a slim 23-20 lead.

Of course, Los Angeles then tied the game with a field goal of its own to send the game into overtime, where it eventually won on a 57-yard boot by Greg Zuerlein.

It was a game that will live on in infamy in New Orleans, but at least Brees has the right attitude. Let's hope everyone else follows suit.
