New Orleans Saints superstar running back Alvin Kamara missed practice Wednesday, as noted by ESPN writer Dan Graziano. Kamara sustained the knee injury in the Week 9 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Fantasy football managers need to take notice and keep an eye on his status.

Kamara is considered day to day with the knee injury not appearing to be serious. But that does not make fantasy managers any more comfortable. It has been reported that Kamara could still play Sunday even if he does not practice.

Alvin Kamara has been a focul point for the Saints offense, per usual. He leads the team in rushing with 530 yards on 146 attempts. That equates to only a 3.6 yards per carry, among the worst in the league. Defenses are clearly keyed in on Kamara on the ground.

However, his role in the passing game is still among the best in fantasy football. Kamara leads the team in receptions with 32 for 310 yards. He is only 13 yards behind team-leader Deonte Harris.

A couple of weeks ago, the Saints traded with the Houston Texans to bring back former running mate of Kamara, Mark Ingram. Ingram has performed well and has looked like a possible flex or bye week fill-in.

If Kamara is forced to Sunday's game, look for Ingram to climb the Week 10 ranks. Volume alone should place him as a mid-tier RB2. He adds a bit more value in PPR leagues as he is also a good pass catcher.

The Saints have been dealing with one major injury after another. They lost starting quarterback Jameis Winston for the year due to a torn ACL. They also got news that WR Michael Thomas will not return this season. It would make sense for the Saints to be cautious with Kamara.

That could put Mark Ingram onto the fantasy map, regardless of whether or not Kamara plays Sunday.
