After spending the last three seasons of his career with the Cleveland Browns, wide receiver Jarvis Landry officially returned home last week as he signed a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints.

On Thursday, the ex-LSU star discussed what it's been like to be back in NOLA and playing for the Saints as he starts this next chapter.

Via The Athletic:

“It’s been a breath of fresh air to be back home, to be around the culture that’s already been set here in New Orleans, the leadership that’s here already.”

2021 was an injury-riddled campaign for Landry which resulted in the Browns releasing him. The Saints were quick to pounce though, inking him to a one-year deal. Landry even revealed that QB Jameis Winston was one of the main reasons he decided to come home and play for this franchise:

“He’s a leader, man. He’s … one of the reasons why I came here, just the conversations that we had, the intent that he’s putting behind the things that he’s saying. Obviously, out here on the field, what you see is what you get,” Landry said before pointing to Winston on the field by himself. “Look, I don’t see nobody else out here. This guy is the last one. That’s who he is. That’s something that you want at that position and a part of your team.”

Saints star wideout Michael Thomas is still rehabbing an injury while rookie Chris Olave and Deonte Harris are expected to be a big part of the receiving corps in 2022. Given Jarvis Landry's resume and experience, there is little doubt he will thrive in New Orleans.

Needless to say, he's comfortable in his surroundings.
