The latest blockbuster trade involving Jamal Adams and the Seattle Seahawks sent shockwaves across the entire NFL landscape. The Seahawks were already good to begin with, but the former New York Jet safety just made them even better.

Former NFL defensive tackle and ESPN analyst Booger McFarland chimed in during an interview on Get Up!:

“I think they were already a Super Bowl contender with Russell Wilson,” McFarland said. “…Jamal Adams just strengthens their defense. Their defense gave up a few yards against the run. I want to say they averaged four to four and a half yards against the run last year.

Now you bring in a playmaker, a playmaker at the safety position. A lot of people are getting caught up in the position that Jamal Adams played. I could care less. I want guys that can make plays. And Jamal Adams is one of the best playmakers in the NFL.”

The two-time Pro Bowler will be looking to build on his already-impressive numbers. Jamal Adams accounted for 61 solo tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 6.5 sacks made en route to an All-Pro performance for the Jets last season. His productivity will certainly benefit the Seattle Seahawks, who are eager to clinch the NFC West division once again.

In the 10 years that Pete Carroll has coached the team, Seattle has only missed the playoffs twice and finished below .500 just once. With Adams anchoring the tail-end of their defensive line. Seattle is looking to add another Lombardi to their trophy collection.

Their quest will begin on September 13 as the Seahawks visit the Atlanta Falcons at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta. The Jamal Adams trade certainly has win-now Seattle fans excited.
