The Seattle Seahawks that take the field week one is a lot different than the team that won the Super Bowl just a few years back. Gone is Richard Sherman and a lot of the big names from a defense that used to be one of the best in the league and in are some young guys who have a lot of big shoes to fill.

Sherman headed off to the San Francisco 49ers which means he will get two shots each year at the Seahawks, and wide receiver Doug Baldwin is excited about the chances.

“I am very excited about it,” Baldwin said via Fox 13. “I don’t want to talk it up too much because that’s my brother, I love him to death, I’d do anything for him. He knows how I feel about him, and the utmost respect that I have for him. When it comes down to gameday, that respect will still be shown.

“Now, obviously, as a competitive nature, just as we battled out here on the practice field, it’s going to be a battle on gameday. And I’m looking forward to it, but I know he is as well.”

Baldwin also talked about how hard it is going to be without the old guys who helped build the championship culture, but he is excited for the guys who were brought in who should be able to step up and take the challenges that come along the way.

Even with a lot of the guys gone, the expectations in Seattle are still high, and Baldwin still has high hopes that this team will be able to live up to those.
