He's finally doing it. After a lot of hype around him, Bronny James is making his way to the NBA. The son of superstar LeBron James has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft. However, there were some concerns about his health after a health scare a year ago. Thankfully, it seems like Bronny is clear from any harm. Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Bronny James has been cleared to participate in NBA Draft Combine drills.

Bronny, the eldest son of LeBron James, naturally had a lot of hype around him. Being the son of arguably the greatest NBA player of all time will do that. After transferring to USC though, Bronny suffered a sudden cardiac arrest during a team practice. The incident not only put his NBA Draft status in jeopardy, but also his life.
Thankfully, James was eventually cleared by independent doctors to return to the court. Bronny underwent surgery to repair his condition (which was eventually revealed as a congenital heart defect. The USC product eventually stepped back on the court and finished the season, eventually declaring for the NBA Draft. Now, he's ready to take the next step and see how he stacks up against the rest of the class.
Bronny James' NBA Draft outlook
Bronny James is a bit of an interesting case when it comes to evaluating draft prospects. As a prospect alone, Bronny is admittedly not a compelling prospect. The most generous NBA mock drafts have him drafted in the late second round. Most have him going undrafted.
What makes drafting Bronny interesting, though, is what comes with Bronny. There's a common belief that whoever drafts the USC product could also get his dad, LeBron James. We can talk about how complicated this might be for Bronny, but it's for sure a complicated case that is very interesting to see play out.
James will have a chance to boost his draft stock in the NBA Draft Combine. The combine is where teams get critical information about draft prospects. While Bronny's draft ceiling might be limited, he has a chance to maximize his draft stock. A great performance from him in the combine (both in the drills and in the scrimmages) could get him drafted potentially.
Ultimately, the story of Bronny James in the NBA is one that fans will be watching with great interest. The odds seem both wildly in his favor and stacked against him, as well. There's a lot of pressure on Bronny to be successful in the league, mainly due to his dad. Will he be able to succeed there?
