Seattle Seahawks tight end Greg Olsen is entering a new situation with a new team, so the fact that he isn't able to practice with his new teammates due to the coronavirus pandemic is a bummer.

But that doesn't mean Olsen isn't working out on his own.

On Tuesday, the veteran said that this has been the best offseason of training that he has ever had:

“You can’t travel a whole lot,” said Olsen, according to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune. “There’s no reason to miss your training. There’s no excuse. You are in a rush to go nowhere.”

Olsen joined the Seahawks back in February after being cut by the Carolina Panthers.

The 35-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Miami, was originally selected by the Chicago Bears in the first round (31st pick overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft.

He spent his first four seasons with the Bears, with his best year in Chicago coming in 2009 when he caught 60 passes for 612 yards and eight touchdowns.

Then, in 2011, Olsen was traded to the Panthers, where he went on to spend his next nine years.

Olsen broke out in Carolina, establishing himself as one of the best tight ends in the league. He was particularly impressive between 2014 and 2016 when he registered over 1,000 yards each year and made three straight Pro Bowl appearances. His most productive season came in 2015 when he racked up 1,104 yards.

However, over the last three years, Olsen has played in a grand total of 30 games due to injuries.
