It is no secret that Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears weren't the perfect marriage. The Bears made an aggressive move to trade up for him in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, this landed Fields in a subpar situation and left Chicago limited with less draft capital because of the trade up. That combination, paired with a lame duck head coach who was fired after one season, set Fields up for failure. A recent report sheds light on different issues that occurred during Fields' time in Chicago, including a poor relationship between him and another QB on the team.

According to Tyle Dunne of Go Long, Justin Fields had a strained relationship with former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles. Foles was in Chicago for Fields' rookie season along with veteran Andy Dalton.

This information is similar to what Josh Lucas, Bears' former direction of player personnel, shared with Windy City Gridiron back in February.

“We thought having two vets with him would really help him with Andy and Nick and that was not cohesive at all,” Lucas said.

The report states that the breaking point in the relationship came after a situation where Foles was trying to teach something to Fields, but realized he wasn't paying attention to anything he was saying.

“The part you don't like about it is that there's a teachable moment in every point of practice,” Lucas added. “There's teachable moments in the building during the day, how you carry yourself as a quarterback. There's teachable moments at press conferences…there's teachable moments every snap on Sunday. When you've got two guys that have won as much as Nick and seen as much as Andy, and you don't take that information in, because you're a little standoffish and a little abrasive, you're wasting that opportunity.”

Now that the 2024 NFL Draft is in the books, the NFL schedule release is the only tentpole event on the league calendar before a sleepy summer.

The full NFL schedule has not yet been released, but insiders have started dropping nuggets about certain Week 1 matchup as well as high-anticipated primetime games.

Here's what we know so far:

The 2024 NFL season features a few new wrinkles this year. To start, there will be a Friday night game in Week 1 of the NFL season. This Friday game will take place in Brazil and features the Packers and Eagles. The Brazil game will be available on normal broadcast channels in local markets but will otherwise be available exclusively on Peacock.

Speaking of exclusive streams, the 2024 season will feature a Wild Card game that is available primarily through Prime Video. Like the Brazil game, it will broadcast on normal channels in the teams' local markets.

Other changes this year include two games on Christmas unlike any other season. There is also speculation that Netflix may win a bidding war to snag one or both of those games.

Aaron Rodgers returns to Monday Night Football in Week 1 in 2024, this time traveling to San Francisco to take on the 49ers. Leonard Floyd, the man who sacked Rodgers on the play where he suffered his ACL injury, currently plays for the 49ers. The storyline writes itself.

The complete NFL schedule will be released tomorrow, May 15th.
