Thanks to quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the surging Green Bay Packers, the Seattle Seahawks have been eliminated from Super Bowl contention. Because of the team's divisional round loss to the Packers, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson understands that Seattle must find a way to get back to the franchise's winning ways sooner rather than later.

“A lot of people think that we overachieved. I think we underachieved, in my opinion, because I think the goal should be always winning the Super Bowl. That’s got to be our standard. That’s got to be our focus,” Wilson recently told reporters, via NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk.

Of course, Wilson and the Seahawks have advanced well into the postseason on numerous occasions, including winning Super Bowl XLVIII, though the team's playoff success has continued to dwindle as of late.

“The reality is that we’ve been very, very good for the past eight years or so, and to go to the playoffs seven of the eight, and to do all those things are special, special things, to go to two Super Bowls, to win one,” Wilson added. “We’ve got to capture that throughout the whole entire season going into next year. We’ve got to find ways to get better. We’ve got to find ways to get past just the first or second round of the playoffs and get to the final push. That’s the reality. I know that’s why I play the game. I know that’s why a lot of guys in this locker room try to play the game [is] for that. We’ve got to find ways to get better and we’ll try to do everything we can to figure that out.”

After initially defeating the severely banged up Philadelphia Eagles to begin the team's latest postseason run, the Seahawks them came up short against the aforementioned Packers this past weekend. With both games being played on the road, the Seahawks were immediately dealt quite a tough hand this time around. Had Seattle managed to beat Green Bay, the Seahawks would have once again hit the road to take on the rival San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.
