Seattle Seahawks rookie wide receiver D.K. Metcalf is known for his physique, ridiculous athletic ability and for walking into his pre-draft interview with Pete Carroll without a shirt, but that's not all there is to Metcalf.

He is also very smart, and Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has already taken notice:

“Everybody knows about his ability to run and everything else, and jump and catch and all that,” Wilson said, according to Brady Henderson of ESPN.com. “You guys have been talking about that for months, but I think more than anything else, it's his brain and how he processes information and how quickly he understands it.

“He's really intelligent. He really understands the game really well. He takes coaching really well. He gets extra work. He's a legit pro wide receiver. He's everything that everybody was talking about in terms of what he's capable of and more.”

Due to a neck injury that limited him to just seven games during his sophomore season at Mississippi, Metcalf did not get a chance to produce all that much on the collegiate level, as he caught 26 passes for 569 yards and five touchdowns this past year.

During his freshman season, he hauled in 39 receptions for 646 yards and seven scores.

However, Metcalf's insane Scouting Combine had teams salivating over his potential, but due to the fact that he did not have that much of a track record in the NCAA, he slipped to back end of the second round, where Seattle took him at No. 64.

With Doug Baldwin retiring, Metcalf could end up playing a crucial role in the Seahawks' passing game in 2019, and it seems like Wilson is already comfortable with that.
