The Seattle Seahawks stunned the powerhouse Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13 with their dominant 24-10 victory. The win once again featured a heavy dosage of star quarterback Russell Wilson, who finished with 258 total yards and three touchdowns.

Although Wilson's playing style makes him one of the most exciting players to watch, there concerns that it will eventually start to take its toll on his body.

However, Wilson disregarded these notions during an appearance of the PFT PM podcast by saying he plans to play well into his 40's:

“I definitely wanna play until my mid-40s,” Wilson said. “I think it’s something that I’ve been very passionate about, and taking care of my health and really trying to dive into the longevity now. . . . For me it’s an everyday process. I have a full-time trainer, Decker Davis, I have a full-time chef as well, Chef Andrea, and I have a full time [physical therapist] and massage person. . . . I’m constantly getting work and getting stretched so that way my body and be super mobile and can maneuver really well. That’s really key to feel fresh every day. I have always have had a big dream of playing for a long time. So that’s always key for me.”

Not only does he plan on playing for 15 more years, but Wilson also added that he hopes to still be with the Seahawks. While his long-term goals may seem a bit far-fetched, it is indicative of the commitment he has not only to football but the city of Seattle as well.

However, time and time again, fans have seen mobile quarterbacks succumb to the wear and tear of having to make plays with their legs constantly. That said, if the Seahawks plan on returning the love, they will need to get some better protection for their franchise player moving forward. Although Wilson has been praised for his scrambling ability, he seems to be running around a lot more than usual throughout the 2017 NFL season.
