The Seattle Seahawks are entering a new era – one without two franchise icons in Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner. Tenure wide receiver Tyler Lockett is ready for the challenge.

With those two gone, Lockett not becomes the longest-tenured player left on the Seahawks roster. His seven-year career now gives him franchise seniority, something he'll need to fill the leadership void left behind by Wilson and Wagner.

Via Larry Stone of the Seattle Times:

“It’s a lot different with Russ and Bobby gone,” Lockett said after the Seahawks' Tuesday OTA practice. “Mentally you feel like you have to step up. You feel like you’ve got to fill in the gaps and those voids that are going to be missing.”

“I played with Russ for seven years,” he said. “So I had to learn how to adjust to be able to understand how he thinks so we can all be on the same page. And I’m sure he had to adjust me as well. … Everything is really just about adjustments and trying to be able to figure out what is it that I need to do, and what is it that I need to bring.”

While it's obviously going to be a bumpy transition period internally for the Seahawks in the coming seasons, Tyler Lockett is up for the task.
