Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was on a liquid diet recently. No. Not that kind of liquid diet. Instead, due to a jaw injury, he was forced to only “eat” food in a liquid form. As far as the reports relay, he wasn't downing Banker's Club Vodka on the daily.

The jaw injury was suffered against the Arizona Cardinals during Thursday Night Football. It was the hit that provided much backlash, as people were upset the Seahawks didn't do more in the concussion protocol to check on the gunslinger.

For what it is worth, and it is a lot, Wilson said scans showed he avoided a fracture that would have required him to have his jaw wired shut. Meaning, barring some other development over the weekend, he’ll be in the lineup against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night.

“I had to wear this splint almost,” Wilson said. “Basically a hard mouthguard which would reset my jaw a little bit and make me feel good again.”

According to Russell Wilson, he was forced to be on the liquid diet for two or three days.

As reported earlier, Wilson is having an outstanding season for the Seahawks. Somehow underrated despite having a wonderful career, he's currently accounting for more yards (percentage wise) for his team than any other QB has for any other NFL team in the history of the storied league.

This is good news for Seattle, as the running game has been putrid outside of the veteran signal-caller. Though, to be fair to the running backs, that is probably more an offensive line issue than it has to do with the talent at the RB position.
