The Seattle Seahawks are hitting a ton of turbulence as they try to navigate through the rest of the NFL season.

The buzz surrounding Russell Wilson last offseason has come back twofold – and for good reason. In a proving year for him and the team, they largely sputtered thanks to a mid-season finger injury that sidelined the Seahawks QB for several weeks, and lingered thereafter.

Despite the unfortunate circumstances, the fact remains that the Seahawks did little to quell the uncertainty surrounding Russell Wilson's future in Seattle. According to a report from ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the end result will be a breakup between Wilson and Pete Carroll, one way or another.

There is a league-wide feeling, according to sources, that Carroll and Wilson will not be together again next season, which would represent the end of one of the most successful head coach/quarterback duos in NFL history.

While it most likely means that the Seahawks will first consider replacing Pete Carroll as head coach, the option to trade Russell Wilson is still on the table.
