Seahawks Week 5 Predictions

4. Chris Carson finally goes off

The Seahawks running back has been having a disappointing 2021 so far, but that could change on Thursday night. The Rams have allowed over 120 rushing yards per game to their opponents and Seattle could capitalize.

Carson has yet to rush for over 100 yards this season. This Thursday Night division rivalry game will push him over the edge and give him the opportunity he needs. The Seahawks should lean on the fifth-year running back to take advantage of the weak rush defense. This will also open things up for the offense and allow Seattle to battle hard.

3. Seahawks defense holds their own

The Seattle defense has nowhere to go but up. This is only the Seahawks’ second home game of the season. A division rivalry on a Thursday night is sure to fire up the stadium. The defense will play off this energy and look to make some big plays against the Rams.

They might not completely shut down Stafford, but the defense could do enough to give the offense a chance to win the game. These two teams know each other well and will compete very hard with one another. The game is also extremely important in the divisional race and is a must-win for both teams.

The Seahawks’ defense may be the worst in the league, but on Thursday night they will battle it out and give the Rams a tough time.

2. Russell Wilson throws his first interception

Russell Wilson is a great quarterback. He has yet to throw an interception this season and has thrown for over 1,000 yards and 9 touchdowns. Wilson will be trying to do it all in this crucial matchup against the Rams. No interceptions are unsustainable, and it may not cost the Seahawks the game, but Wilson could slip up.

The vet will be trying to make plays all game and he could bite off a bit more than he could chew at some point. Trying to force a throw that isn’t there or make a spectacular play. Wilson might just end up throwing his first pick of the season.

The Rams pass defense is very solid and Wilson will be throwing in the direction of some great defenders. The Seahawks quarterback will still have a great game but mistakes are bound to happen.

1. Tyler Lockett explodes for over 100 yards and a touchdown

Tyler Lockett was the number one guy in Seattle before someone named DK Metcalf joined the squad. Metcalf is questionable heading into the contest. Either way, this should be Lockett’s game.

Lockett had an explosive first two games of the season but has since quieted down. If DK plays then that means that Lockett won’t have to face off against Jalen Ramsay. If DK doesn’t play then Lockett will get most of the targets as the new number one for the Seahawks. Win-win for Tyler Lockett.

Wilson and Lockett have a special connection. The deep pass is something Russell will always look for, especially in a division rivalry game. Tyler Lockett should have a very good night in Los Angeles and will look to break out after two slow weeks.
