The San Jose Sharks will head south to face the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center. We're here to share our NFL odds series, make a Sharks-Ducks prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Sharks lost 5-0 to the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday. Unfortunately, they allowed a goal one minute into the game. It spiraled out of nowhere, and they could not bounce back. Significantly, Tomas Hertl tallied five shots and won 12 faceoffs while losing six. Mikael Granlund tallied four shots. Meanwhile, goalie Kappo Kahkonen allowed five goals while making 34 saves. The Wild took 20 shots while allowing 39. Also, they lost despite winning 56 percent of their faceoffs. The Sharks went 0 for 4 on the powerplay. Additionally, they leveled 19 hits and blocked 16 shots.

The Ducks had their worst game of the season as they fell 6-3 to the Philadelphia Flyers. Sadly, they struggled with possession rate throughout the entire game. It caused them to fall into a 3-0 hole early that they could not climb out of. Amazingly, they lost despite a hat trick from Leo Carlsson. Carlsson became the youngest Duck ever to score a hat trick. Overall, the Ducks won 51 percent of their faceoffs but could not hold onto the puck. Lukas Dostal allowed five goals on 35 shots. Despite that, the Ducks killed all penalties. The Ducks went 2 for  6 on the powerplay. Likewise, they leveled 14 hits and blocked nine shots. The Flyers blocked 21 shots from the Ducks.

Ryan Strome, Mason McTavish, Pavel Mintyukov, and Frank Vatrano all struggled on defense. Therefore, look for them to attempt to rebound from their poor performance.

The Ducks won 3 of 4 against the Sharks last season. Additionally, they have gone 8-2 against the Sharks over 10 games. The teams have split the last 10 games at Honda Center.

Why The Sharks Will Cover The Spread

The Sharks have the worst team in the NHL. Yet, they can win games, as they had won twice before falling on Friday. They have some playmakers that can do some damage against the Ducks.

Hertl has two goals and seven assists while firing 33 shots with a 65.1 percent conversion rate. Additionally, he has excelled in the faceoff circle, winning 175 faceoffs and losing 109. Fabian Zetterlund has notched four goals and two assists. Also, he has converted 14.2 percent of his shots into goals. William Eklund has tallied two goals and two assists. Ultimately, these three have to do more since Anthony Duclair has been out with an injury.

Mackenzie Blackwood will likely be the starter tonight. So far, he is 2-6-1 with a 4.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .899. Blackwood will have his hands full against an improved Anaheim offense.

The Sharks will cover the spread if they can dominate the puck possession early. Then, they will cover if they can draw penalties.

Why The Ducks Will Cover The Spread

The Ducks will look to recover after a bad loss. After winning six in a row, the Ducks have found themselves losers of two in a row. They will look to stop the bleeding today against the worst team in the NHL.

McTavish leads the way, with six goals and eight assists, while converting 15.4 percent of his shots into goals. Also, McTavish has won 98 faceoffs and lost 81. Strome has tallied two goals and 10 assists. Likewise, he has won 17 faceoffs and lost 26. Vatrano has netted nine goals and three assists, including three powerplay markers, on 42 shots. Meanwhile, Troy Terry has five goals and six assists, including two conversions on the powerplay. Montyukov has tallied one goal and eight assists. Additionally, he has leveled 23 hits and blocked 17 shots. Carlsson has six goals and one assist while converting on 30 percent of his shots. Despite that, there is a chance the Ducks will sit him for load management. Trevor Zegras might slot in if he can return from his injury.

John Gibson will likely get the start in this game. Thus, he comes in with a record of 2-4 with a 2.41 goals-against average and a save percentage of .921. The defense will look to protect the crease better.

The Ducks will cover the spread if they can maintain possession of the puck. Then, they need to score on their chances.
