Philadelphia 76ers All-Star point forward Ben Simmons says “everybody” on the team deserves blame for the Sixers getting knocked out in the second round of the playoffs. However, he is backing head coach Brett Brown.

There's a lot of noise about Brown's job security with the Sixers. Simmons, though, says Brown “doesn't have a jersey on” and isn't the one losing the actual game on the court.

Brown is currently signed through the 2021-2022 season with the Sixers. He's been in Philly since the beginning of The Process.

Simmons is right in the sense that the players are the ones who are out there on the court playing and ultimately losing the game. The Sixers' late-game fourth quarter execution against the Raptors in Game 7 was terrible and it's one of the reasons they lost.

If the Sixers do fire Brown, it will be interesting to see who they hire as his replacement. But the fact remains that no coach can make the team play harder, rebound the ball, defend and eliminate turnovers. That's on the players who are on the floor getting paid millions of dollars.

Simmons averaged 16.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game during the regular season. He still doesn't have a jump shot, something the lefty has to add to his game this summer.
