The Brooklyn Nets are in the middle of a free fall. They have lost nine straight games and fallen to the #8 seed in the Eastern Conference. The team's struggles prompted the Nets to pull off a blockbuster trade Thursday just before the NBA trade deadline. Brooklyn is sending James Harden to Philadelphia to play for the Sixers. He will have some new teammates.

But as Harden gains new teammates, he might not be leaving behind much in terms of relationships.

According to Washington Post writer Michael Lee, a former NBA player blasted Harden.

Lee reportedly received a text from a former player who wrote: “Harden gonna have a hard time getting a former teammate to introduce him at his HOF induction.”

That speaks volumes on the perception of Harden around the league. Harden has long been known for being a ball-first point guard. He needs the ball in his hands to run the show. But the apparent whispers off of the court leave the same impression.

The new Sixer is a sure-fire first ballot Basketball Hall of Fame player. He has averaged 25 points, almost seven assists and six rebounds per game over the course of his career. In recent years, his numbers have truly skyrocketed. But much of that came without any team success.

Harden is yet to make it back to the NBA Finals after getting there early in his career. Harden, along with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, reached the finals with Oklahoma City in 2012. They lost to LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
