It's finally happened. The Philadelphia 76ers have acquired James Harden from the Brooklyn Nets in a massive blockbuster which has seen Ben Simmons go the other way along with Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and draft picks. Wow, the Sixers really pulled this off.

This possibility has been brewing for weeks, but it was unclear if the Sixers would be willing to part ways with more role players other than Simmons, who hasn't played all season due to mental health issues. As for Harden, he's voiced his displeasure with the Nets organization amid their struggles and was very keen on a trade to Philly, but the veteran was hesitant to ask Brooklyn because he didn't want to face backlash from leaving another team.

Sixers fans will undoubtedly be pleased with this move considering Simmons is now gone. He's been a thorn in their side ever since his playoff meltdown last year. Now, Joel Embiid gets a legitimate running mate who will hopefully propel Philly to a legitimate title contender.

As for the Nets, their Big 3 is broken up, but they still have a promising core. However, Kyrie Irving isn't eligible to play in home games and Kevin Durant is still injured. The addition of Curry and Drummond aren't bad by any means, though. The Sixers are also getting veteran Paul Millsap in the deal. Simmons gets a fresh start and the hope is he can find his All-Star form again.

This is madness.
