When the Philadelphia 76ers traded for James Harden last Thursday, the trajectory of their season changed dramatically. Not only is the cloud of the Ben Simmons saga gone from over the team's head, but they now have a high-talented duo to lead this team on a deep playoff run.

One of the main topics discussed when it comes to this mega-deal is the new pairing of Harden and Joel Embiid. For the first time in his career, Philly's All-Star center has a legitimate second option who complements his game perfectly. With the attention the two garner on the floor, opposing defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.

While this new pairing of All-Stars is a major headline, there are other players on the Sixers who benefit from the addition of Harden as well. During his introductory press conference Tuesday afternoon, the former MVP gave his thoughts on some other talents on the roster.

The first Sixers player Harden opened up on was Tyrese Maxey. Since his arrival, Harden has been extremely impressed with what he has seen from the second-year guard.

“He's had an opportunity this year, because of the circumstances, but his confidence is just going off the roof. He's always in attack. His 3-point shooting is extremely improved. Overall, his entire game is improving. That's where I'm coming in, to talk to him, to help him in as many ways as I can. He's been doing an unbelievable job, and he's only looking to get better,” said Harden.

Another new Sixers teammate Harden brought up during his press conference was Tobias Harris. He knows how talented of a player Harris is and only wants to help bring out the best in him.

“Tobias is a guy is that can go get you 20 [points] a night, and I feel like it's my job to get that out of him. He's very versatile as well. My job is to help be the leader and push guys, and get that swagger out of guys every single night because ultimately that is going to help us get to the end goal that's to win a championship,” Harden said Tuesday.

Based on his comments, Harden appears ready to fall in nicely on his new team. He said all the right things, especially about helping elevate those around him. With his elite-level facilitation, the All-Star guard is sure to become the new maestro of the Sixers' offense.

Embracing a leadership role was another major takeaway from these statements. Maxey can learn a lot from his new backcourt partner, and Harden seems open to helping the 21-year-old reach his full potential. Harden is aware this Sixers roster is flooded with talent outside of Embiid and is ready to help elevate everyone he will be sharing the court with.
