Jimmy Butler, the newest member of the Sixers, had nothing but praise for head coach Brett Brown.

As per Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philly, Butler tagged Brown as “special,” noting that the coach looks out for all of his players.

“He’s special, he makes sure everyone is out there comfortable…When the head of this thing is steering us in the right direction, it’s going to be easy.”

In his first game donning the 76ers jersey, Butler scored 14 points in 33 minutes. However, they lost, 111-106 to the Orlando Magic.

The 76ers acquired Butler via a trade package from the Minnesota Timberwolves. Prior to the start of the regular season, Butler requested for a trade, citing personal differences with the Wolves young players: Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Butler created controversy after creating a stir in a practice session with the Wolves, right after his trade request. Some analysts didn't like his behavior and said it could affect the Wolves' culture moving forward.

Right after they sealed the trade, Brown shared his thoughts on Butler. He's aware of the fact that Butler wears his heart on his sleeve. And Brown admitted that he likes players who carry that intensity. Per Brad Botkin of CBS Sports, Brown said:

” … I'm not naive enough to think it's all crystal clear and everything is fine off a 20-minute call. I just feel like, you know, he's easy to talk to, you can tell he wears his heart on his sleeve, he plays with passion, and not many people would say it's not real. It's a genuine way he acts and that's who he is, and I'm attracted to that.”
