The Philadelphia 76ers have a new exciting addition joining the game-day roster on Friday. James Harden, one of the two headliners of the Sixers' blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets, is set to play in their first game back from the NBA All-Star Break.

Of course, Ben Simmons is the second headliner of the trade. After a huge falling out between him, Joel Embiid, and the Sixers, a trade was inevitable. Embiid sat down with ESPN journalist Malika Andrews and gave his side of the story.

She tweeted a video compilation of their interview Tuesday afternoon.

According to Embiid, he “did a lot of chasing around trying to get him (Simmons) back and try to make him feel comfortable again.” He explained that “it was tough,” and eventually he “didn't care anymore.”

After all, Embiid had a job to do. The big man said that he had to enhance his game to compensate for the bad blood between Simmons and the Sixers. “The drama, that was adding a lot to the way we played and having to take my game to another level,” the Sixers big man said.

Andrews told Embiid that Simmons told her that he didn't speak to Embiid on his way out of Philadelphia. He confirmed it, saying that the last time the two spoke was “a week or two before the trade deadline.”

Despite the sour goodbye between Simmons and the Sixers, Embiid said that Simmons is a “great player…whatever he's going to add to Brooklyn is going to take him to another level too.”
