The NBA's annual trade deadline did not disappoint this season. One of the biggest bombshells dropped on Thursday night was the Philadelphia 76ers executing a trade for disgruntled Brooklyn Nets star James Harden. The Harden-Ben Simmons swap was the talk of the town for the entire day, and became the subject of many discussions.

Joel Embiid said it’s exciting to add one of the best players in the league in James Harden, and is looking forward to seeing how everything comes together.

The Sixers star added that the team is already looking for ways to acclimate their newest star into the system as quickly as possible.

Rumors of James Harden wanting out of Brooklyn surfaced a few days before the trade deadline, with the Sixers emerging as the front-runners. In the end, a deal was executed between the two teams, with both disgruntled stars swapping teams and situations. Now, Harden gets to play with MVP candidate Joel Embiid.

As for the Sixers team as a whole, they can finally put the whole Ben Simmons saga behind them. The Australian star's refusal to play for the team made navigating the season tougher for them. Now, without the distraction of Simmons, the team can focus on its true goal: winning a championship.

After this trade, the Sixers emerged as favorites to win it all this season. Not giving up either Tyrese Maxey or Mattise Thybulle was the icing on the cake. It's all or nothing for this team right now, a boom or bust situation, if you will.
