The Philadelphia 76ers selected Markelle Fultz first overall in the 2017 NBA Draft. He was one of many players acquired as a part of “The Process,” the team's long-term rebuild centered around Joel Embiid. However, Fultz was traded in February of 2019, before the Sixers could reach their full potential and an NBA championship.

Right now, heading into their fifth-straight playoff run, the Sixers have the chance to finally reach their peak and fight for an NBA title. Along with the playoff berth, Embiid is one of the top three candidates for the regular-season MVP award. However, according to Fultz, Embiid shouldn't get his hopes up.

He told Orlando Sports radio 96.9 Thursday that the NBA “doesn't wanna validate The Process,” claiming that the league is tampering with the vote against the Sixers center. Sports journalist Shonda Brown tweeted Fultz's conspiracy theory Thursday night.

While it's a huge accusation towards the presumably biased NBA, this isn't a new theory. Many others have expressed a similar opinion via social media.

Victor Williams of Liberty Line tweeted the same thing just days before Fultz shared his opinion.

Matthew, a Philadelphia sports fan and podcast host tweeted a similar thought, stating that the league would “die before acknowledging any success came from it [The Process].”

Just ahead of the 2022 NBA Playoffs, things aren't looking great for Embiid's MVP run. Word on the street (and the internet) is that Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets will likely take home his second regular-season MVP award in a row.
