The Philadelphia 76ers are without Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons as they face the Los Angeles Clippers in L.A. on Sunday afternoon. No matter, the Sixers have Shake Milton.

The G Leaguer — who is largely getting this opportunity due to Simmons' injury — exploded in the first half, scoring 26 points on a near-perfect 10-of-11 shooting from the field. Milton joined Simmons as the only Sixers players in the last 20 years with at least 25 points and 90 percent shooting in a single half, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Milton was drafted out of Southern Methodist University in 2018, going to the Dallas Mavericks with the 54th selection. But he would promptly make his way to Philadelphia after the Sixers acquired him on draft night, eventually earning a two-way contract later that summer.

The 23-year-old made 20 appearances with Philly last season, averaging 4.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in just over 13 minutes per game. Milton continued to impress the organization with a strong Summer League performance in Vegas, and they converted his two-way deal into a four-year contract.

Milton had already played in 27 games this season, making 11 starts prior to Sunday afternoon. He was averaging 7.6 points and 2.1 rebounds on 43 percent shooting from beyond the arc, giving the Sixers a much-needed floor-spacer off the bench.

However, it is unlikely Philly fans expected anything like the scoring barrage they have seen thus far. Shake Milton showed he was unafraid to take on a larger scoring role, firing at will from the perimeter and taking it into the heart of Philly's defense.
