Former NBA player Shawn Marion is not exactly a fan of the Philadelphia 76ers. In fact, he has already predicted the team's fate this upcoming season, with a forecast that is not going to be as bright as the Sixers' impressive run last year.

“I think Philly had a great year last year, I don’t see them repeating what they did last year, I see them being a four-seed in the Eastern Conference, I think if all these teams stay healthy, I’ll take Boston as my pick for No. 1,” Marion tells Vivek Jacob of Sportsnet.

Marion projects that the Sixers will fall one spot from their third-place finish in the East last year. Aside from the Celtics, who look to get back a healthy Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving, Marion believes that the John Wall and Bradley Beal tandem in Washington, and the new-look Toronto Raptors, will end up getting more wins than the 76ers in the 2018-19 regular season.

“No. 2, I’ll give them the nod ahead of Toronto a little bit, it’s Washington,” adds Marion. “They got some great additions this summer, I think they got a chance to do something very special. I’mma give the 3 to Toronto and then you go Philly. I think Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are awesome and then you got some young guys on their team, but I don’t like their system, I think it’s too predicated on hitting the three-ball and transition.”

Marion went on to broadcast how he does not believe in the system head coach Brett Brown has implemented in Philadelphia. Despite the fact that he sees the potential in Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, Marion implied that they are not being utilized properly.

The Sixers faithful could not disagree more with Marion here. It would not be a bad idea to bookmark these quotes and re-read them to Marion in May next year once the 76ers are, hopefully, contending for the Eastern Conference title.
