There were a lot of positive takeaways from the Philadelphia 76ers' 117-96 win over the Washington Wizards Sunday. Many will focus on Joel Embiid, who turned in another dominant performance, but others deserve applause as well. Among the standouts from this blowout was Furkan Korkmaz.

The month of December has not been kind to Korkmaz, to say the least. Heading into Sunday, he was in the midst of arguably the worst shooting slump of his young career. The 24-year-old was averaging merely 6.0 points and shooting 15.4% from three over his last nine games. His struggles got so bad Doc Rivers had no choice but to cut his minutes.

Shooters always go through hot and cold spells. It's a given with that style of play. All a player needs is that one good game to break out of their funk, and Sunday might have been that for Korkmaz. In 14 minutes of action, he tallied 14 points on impressive 5-for-9 shooting from the floor.

It's too soon to say that Korkmaz will slowly inch back to the player we're accustomed to seeing, but Sunday was a step in the right direction. Following the win, multiple players stepped up to sing his praises after such a bad dry spell shooting-wise.

First was Tobias Harris, who touched on the lift Korkmaz's bounce-back performance provided for the rest of the team.

“Obviously, he’s a guy who’s been out for some time as well so for him to just come in and gain that momentum and that flow, see some shots fall, and be able to roll off that, that was big for us, big for him,” he said, per Ky Carlin of SixersWire.

Later on, Joel Embiid chimed in with his thoughts. He loved the way not only Korkmaz played, but the team as a whole.

“I’ve been talking to him. We needed that. We need him to be aggressive. We need him to make shots. Everybody, we need everybody. You look at tonight, the way everybody played, the ball moved, everybody played well together as a team, it started on defense. We need everybody as we saw tonight so hopefully, that continues,” he said, according to Carlin.

The Sixers need Korkmaz to break out of his slump fast, for multiple reasons. Being so short-handed, they need all the production they can get. If he can carry the momentum from this game forward, it will greatly help the currently depleted Sixers' second unit.

Outside shooting is another key factor in Korkmaz returning to form. Recently, the Sixers have not been able to buy a basket from beyond the arc. As one of their top three-point shooters in recent years, Korkmaz's main objective is to help space the floor.

Korkmaz has had a rollercoaster ride of a season thus far, and after Sunday, his play looks to be trending in the right direction once again.
