Following a dominant win against the Boston Celtics Friday, the Philadelphia 76ers hopped right on a plane to Florida for the second leg of a back-to-back. Next up on the Sixers schedule was a meeting with an all too familiar face in Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat.

Despite playing the night before and having to travel, the Sixers managed to keep their momentum rolling. They managed to come out of South Beach with a victory, winning by a final score of 109-98. Here are some observations from the matchup.

Sixers observations from win vs. Heat

1) Aggressive Seth Curry

Since arriving in Philadelphia, Seth Curry has been strongly encouraged to be more aggressive on the offensive end. Showings like Saturday are a prime example of why Doc Rivers continues to push the sharpshooting guard to increase his volume. Curry ended the night as the Sixers' third-leading scorer with 21 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists.

The biggest thing that stands out from Curry's performance was his attempts from beyond the arc. He let it fly from deep a total of nine times against Miami and connected on five of those attempts. Whether it was in transition or the two-man game with Joel Embiid, Curry did a great job of asserting himself offensively.

It goes without saying how big showings like this are from Curry. When he is aggressively hunting shots, defenses are forced to make adjustments. The gravity he draws once he gets hot also opens up the floor for other players. This increase in attempts from deep is something the Sixers need from Curry on a nightly basis moving forward.

2) Tobias Harris looks like his old self

There is no denying Tobias Harris has had some rough patches, but his performance against Miami is among his best this year. He tallied 22 points, eight rebounds, and three assists on impressive 9-for-13 shooting from the floor. Harris even stepped out and connected on all three of his three-point attempts.

This is the Harris we grew accustomed to seeing last season. He made quick decisions with the ball and shot with great efficiency. When Harris keeps things simple and doesn't try to do too much, he thrives.

Some might speculate Harris had some outside motivation in this matchup as well. If his goal was to stick it to former teammate Jimmy Butler, he succeeded. The goal for Harris now is to maintain these habits and carry the momentum into Monday's meeting against Washington.

3) Joel Embiid comes up large when it counts

Joel Embiid has been one of the league's most dominant forces over the past month, but he did not look that way early on against the Heat. After struggling mightily in the first half, it looked like the All-Star center's impressive run was coming to end.

Unfortunately for the Heat, that was not the case at all. Embiid came out in the second half and put on another masterclass to lead the Sixers to victory. Even with a lackluster start, he managed to end the night with 32 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists.

Whatever Embiid did during halftime worked tremendously. Twenty-five of his 32 points came in the final two quarters, and he missed only two of his 11 shot attempts in that stretch.

At this point, there really is nothing more that can be said about Embiid and his other-worldly performances. He has firmly cemented himself in the conversation of top players in the NBA right now.
