Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has had a solid start to her WNBA campaign. After assisting the Sky to two straight wins, Reese is preparing to make her home debut at Wintrust Arena on Saturday night. The former LSU star has had great things to say about the city of Chicago so far, except for one major traffic-based complaint.

Reese was not shy about revealing her Windy City woe:

“I loveee Chicago but this traffic is ridiculous…” Reese posted on X.

Chicago traffic can certainly be a turn-off to those not used to navigating such big cities. Angel Reese made a big change going from LSU to the Windy City. With time, she will learn the most efficient ways to get where she needs to go. Regardless, the star rookie's admiration for the city does not look to change anytime soon.

Reese made it clear that being with the Sky in Chicago is a great place for her to develop:

“I'm happy to have the support system, no better place than Chicago. I love Chicago so much on and off the court…Obviously, I'm still learning and growing, but I'm happy to be here,” Reese said after a Sky practice.

Reese's teammates and coaches are some of her biggest supporters. Sixth-year guard Diamond DeShields spoke highly of Reese's professionalism and work ethic after the Sky's first 2024 victory over the Dallas Wings.

“Angel is really great…to have someone at her age come in and have the [mindset] to work…She's very professional, comes in each and every day, and gives us consistency, and it's really impressive,” DeShields said.

Reese will need to continue her standout effort as the Sky look to climb the Eastern Conference.

Reese has performed consistently in her first three WNBA games and looks to gain even more confidence. She notched a 12-point-eight-rebound debut against the Dallas Wings on May 16th. Two days later, she helped lead the Sky to their first win of the season in a May 19th rematch.

The rookie forward finished with 11 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and shot an improved 5-for-7 on free throws.  After the game, Reese provided insight into what she best contributes to the Sky.

“Even though I'm young, I know I bring a lot of energy to this team. My energy is contagious, and I just try to boost everybody up as much as I can,” Reese shared.

Reese continued her energetic approach in Chicago's thrilling 90-81 victory over the reigning Eastern Conference champion New York Liberty. She amassed 13 points, and nine rebounds and shot 7-for-9 at the free throw stripe.

The Sky will need Reese's interior presence again as the team prepares for a challenging matchup against the Connecticut Sun. Alyssa Thomas and the Sun enter the game undefeated at 4-0, but Chicago wants to make things tough.

Angel Reese aspires to do great things with the Sky after a remarkable collegiate career. Can she put forth another stout performance in her home debut on Saturday night?
