Avery Bradley has only played in two games for the L.A. Clippers following the huge trade that sent him to Hollywood from the Motor City, but his name continues to be thrown in further deals — one of which involves the San Antonio Spurs.

Despite missing Kawhi Leonard for a huge chunk of the season, the traditional powerhouse in San Antonio has maintained its status as one of the top teams in the NBA, giving more credence to an already elite system and culture that has resulted in two decades of strong seasons.

The Spurs were already believed to have some interest in Bradley. Now, the New York Times' Marc Stein is reporting on the package coming from San Antonio to Los Angeles.

Danny Green and a first-round pick for Avery Bradley is one potential trade construction that the Spurs and Clippers have discussed, league sources say.

If this happens, the Spurs would be parading the most menacing wing tandem on defense in the entire league. Pairing the two-time Defensive Player of the Year in Leonard with arguably an All NBA First Team Defense talent would be the perfect counter to the offensive juggernauts that are the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets.

Although Bradley has been having a down year, the Spurs' environment could be what he needs to rekindle some of his game from his days with the Boston Celtics. The only caveat in this scenario is the Clippers guard's contract situation as he is already in the final year of his deal, making him an unrestricted free agent in July.

Green has played several years in San Antonio. He knows every twist and turns in the intricate system of Gregg Popovich. The first rounder, despite being expected to land in the latter part of the first round, still holds much value.

This is another classic case of the financials outweighing the talent in terms of negotiations.
