Kawhi Leonard recently expressed his willingness to come back to action this season and along with it was his denial of any friction between him and the San Antonio Spurs.

“Everything was done as a group,” Leonard said of him seeking second opinions, according to Tom Orsborn of The San Antonio Express-News. “I don't feel like nothing was friction. I talk to Pop every day. He knows what the progression were. He knew what I was doing the whole entire time, as well as the front office. We made a group decision, so it was me just going out and saying, ‘I am going to go out and do this thing.'”

Along with it was the 26-year-old's commitment to remaining with the organization and finishing his career there.

“Yeah. For sure,” he said when asked if he planned to retire as a Spur.

Leonard explained that he is soon on his way to making his return, but remained noncommittal to an actual date, giving “soon” as the only hope moving forward through the last 18 games of the season.

“I just have to keep doing what I am doing,” Leonard said. “The progression that I am making has been great. I just have to keep doing what I am doing.”

Leonard said he has been “doing some physical contact with some guys,” — likely meant as the Spurs personnel, but not his teammates.

The Los Angeles native said he is not planning to make take part in the Spurs' three-game road trip, which begins on Thursday night against the Golden State Warriors.
