San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard recently came back to action after missing three games with a shoulder strain. He's been injured much of the season, but when he has played, he's looked fairly good on the basketball floor.

The next step, Leonard says, is for him to figure out a way to have  multiple games in a row where he feels good, per Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.

“I need to string some games together,” Leonard said. “I talked to veteran guys who have been in this situation. They say to give yourself time – two weeks, three weeks, maybe a month – to get back to being yourself.”

Leonard had 19 points, eight rebounds and four steals Saturday against the Denver Nuggets. It's the steals and the overall defense that Spurs head coach Gregg Popavich looks at to determine whether or not Leonard is looking healthier, per McDonald.

“He's made some really good defensive plays,” Popovich said. “When he does that, I know he's getting better.”

After missing so many games with several injuries, it will take some time for Leonard to feel like he's back to 100 percent. Having the shoulder strain definitely set him back a little, but it's good he only missed three games.

The rest of the league should watch Leonard's next few games. If he's getting 19 points and eight rebounds after missing three games, just think the numbers will put up after he's had a five or six straight games under his belt.

Leonard is still San Antonio's most important player, and him healthy is trouble for the rest of the NBA.
