The San Antonio Spurs has signed Olivier Hanlan, the team's 42nd pick in the 2015 Draft. The former Boston College standout has finally reached his NBA dream after stints in Europe and the G League.

Michael Scotto of The Athletic reported this interesting development.

“The San Antonio Spurs are signing guard Olivier Hanlan, The Athletic has learned. Hanlan was the 42nd overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft. The Spurs retained his draft rights.”

Hanlan played three excellent seasons with Boston College before declaring for the draft. He was a highly-touted prospect but his stock fell and he landed in the second round. Still, his potential as an effective two-way player for the Spurs is intriguing.

Josh Riddell of DraftExpress summed up Hanlan's achievements during his outstanding college career.

The Boston College Eagles struggled throughout Olivier Hanlan's three year collegiate career, going just 4-14 in ACC-play the past two seasons and 7-11 prior to that, but Hanlan found plenty of individual success, becoming one of the best scorers in college basketball. He ending his collegiate career averaging 20.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per 40 minutes pace adjusted while playing 37.6 minutes per game. This was enough to place him on the ACC All-Conference 1st team a year after garnering All-Conference 3rd team honors.

His all-around brilliance is a welcome sight to any team, especially in today's style of game where teams are leaning on giving more importance to versatility. Added to Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich's knack for recognizing talents of players overseas, one would easily know that Hanlan will do many good things for the Spurs.
