Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin says that wide receiver Antonio Brown didn't take part in a scheduled MRI prior the Week 17 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Steelers were able to secure a 16-13 win over the Bengals at Heinz Field, but after the Baltimore Ravens held off the Cleveland Browns, Tomlin's team was officially eliminated from playoff contention.

After a 7-2-1 start on the season, missing the playoffs isn't exactly going over well in Pittsburgh, and neither is the current situation surrounding Brown.

The star wide wideout has gotten a lot of criticism for a reported altercation with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger last week, which apparently led to him being sidelined for the regular season finale.

And it seems like skipping an MRI for a knee injury is only adding more to the situation.

From Chase Williams of WPXI in Pittsburgh:

Tomlin says Antonio Brown “did not go through” with the MRI that was scheduled on Friday. Says when he spoke with reporters Friday, he was “unaware” that Brown skipped the MRI.

With additional reports surfacing that Brown has asked to be traded, this isn't an ideal spot for the Steelers to be in entering the offseason.

After dealing with the Le'Veon Bell holdout during the season, the team's front office is now dealing with another unhappy playmaker.

It would certainly be interesting if the Steelers enter the 2019 season without Bell or Brown on the roster, especially considering their contributions to the franchise over the years.

Either ways, this is undoubtedly something that Steelers fans will be monitoring throughout the offseason.
