Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joe Haden wants a contract extension and would like to finish his career with the franchise, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. This information was relayed to Schefter by Haden's agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

Haden is entering the final season of his contract. He signed a two-year extension with the Steelers two years ago.

The 32-year-old has played four years in Pittsburgh. Haden joined the Steelers in 2017 after he was released by the Cleveland Browns, with whom he played the first seven seasons of his NFL career. He went to two Pro Bowls with the Browns and went to the Pro Bowl with the Steelers in 2019.

Haden played 14 games for Pittsburgh last season, racking up 52 combined tackles and two interceptions for an excellent defensive unit. The Steelers started 2020 11-0 before stumbling down the stretch and then losing to the Browns in the playoffs.

Pittsburgh should be right back in the playoff mix in 2021 with Ben Roethlisberger under center. Roethlisberger is feeling rejuvenated and hoping to lead a talented offense, while Haden and the defense will look to do its thing once again. But, first, Haden would like a new deal to get him more security as he hits the tail end of his NFL career.
