With Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph benched, undrafted rookie signal-caller Devlin Hodges came into the game for Mike Tomlin's team, instantly throwing a dart to sophomore wide receiver James Washington for a stunning 79-yard touchdown reception against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday (via NFL).

“Duck” Hodges, out of Samford, came into the game with Rudolph struggling (8/16 for 85 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception), going 2/2 for 90 yards, including the 79-yard grab by Washington, on his first drive with Pittsburgh against Cincy today. The 23-year-old previously started for the Steelers in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers when Rudolph was hurt (All-Pro QB Ben Roethlisberger had a season-ending elbow injury the first week of the season), throwing for 132 yards and a touchdown and an interception in the win.

Hodges arrival begs the question of Rudolph's longevity with the franchise. The Steelers drafted the Oklahoma State product last year in the third round, but may have found a gem in Duck.
