To say that Phoenix Suns head coach Igor Kokoskov is a huge fan of his young star, Devin Booker, would be an understatement. As a matter of fact, the 47-year-old rookie coach believes that in a few years' time, Booker is going to overtake Portland Trail Blazers All-Star point guard Damian Lillard.

Kokoskov shared his belief following his team's 120-106 defeat at the hands of Lillard and his Blazers. He obviously has a lot of confidence in his emerging superstar.

“I would say in about seven years he's going to be an even better player than Damian,” Kokoskov said, via ESPN. “No disrespect to Damian, I love his game. It's a process.”

While this does sound a bit cocky on the onset, it may actually have some merit the more you think about it. After all, seven years is a lot of time, and with the current pace the 22-year-old Booker is developing with, this bold prediction might actually come to fruition.

For now though, Lillard remains to be on another level compared to Booker. The seven-year pro has emerged as one of the top point guards in the NBA today, and has proven the same on multiple occasions.

At the end of the day, winning is one of, if not the most important thing in the league. Unfortunately for Booker, his Suns team are just not doing that right now. Unlike Lillard, who has led his team to the fourth spot in the super competitive Western Conference, Booker will still have a long way to go before he is able to carry his side to the postseason.
