Deandre Ayton's future with the Phoenix Suns has been thrown into the spotlight after their disappointing playoffs exit at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks. Interestingly, the Arizona franchise might like the current outlook with regards to his free agency.

There have been plenty of rumors going around that Ayton and the Suns could be heading to a breakup. Ayton played just 17 minutes in their Game 7 blowout against the Mavs, and when asked about the decision, head coach Monty Williams only said it was “internal”–hinting that there could be problems between the team and the big man.

Williams' latest comments also fueled the speculations about Ayton's exit, as he refused to discuss his future with the team or even show support to the youngster. Instead, he shared that they will deal with it this summer.

While all signs show an apparent disconnect, it doesn't look like the Suns will have a problem moving him. Phoenix might not be willing to give him the max money, but Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN revealed that the 23-year-old won't be short of interested suitors. Ayton is a restricted free agent, so the team can match any offer sheet he receives.

Simply put, they have complete control of his future.

“Deandre Ayton is going to get a max contract in the marketplace somewhere… There are a lot of teams lining up to figure out: how can we acquire him?” Wojnarowski said.

As Woj noted, a sign-and-trade is a possibility given the current talks about Deandre Ayton. Surely, the Suns wouldn't want to part ways with him without getting anything in return, so that is a move that they will definitely consider.

It remains to be seen what will happen to Ayton this offseason, but Suns fans might have seen the last of him in Phoenix uniform if the latest rumors are true.
