Houston Texans cornerback Bradley Roby is among those that will be responsible for guarding New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas in the 2019 NFL season opener. Fortunately, he feels he is more than up to the task.

Roby has already had some experience defending Thomas during the former's time with the Denver Broncos. He is excited to square off against him once again, via the team's official website:

“I'm looking forward to the second time,” Roby said Thursday of facing Thomas again. “What do I see in him? He's a big target, great hands, great size, has a great relationship with [quarterback] Drew (Brees) and he's very successful.”

It is safe to say that Roby had the better of Thomas the first time around. The latter endured one of the worst games of his career against Denver as a rookie. He finished the game with four catches for 40 yards and two lost fumbles.

Of course, plenty has changed since Thomas' rookie year. The former second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft is now a two-time Pro-Bowler and first-team All-Pro receiver. He is also the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. It is safe to say he will be looking to justify his lucrative payday this season.

Roby's comments indicate he knows full well he will have his work cut out trying to contain Thomas without the help of his former Broncos' teammates. He is the clear-cut No. 1 option in a Saints offense that does not have much depth in their receiving corps. Roby must find a way to limit his production if the Texans are going to get the season started off on the right foot.
