Bradley Roby of the Houston Texans appreciates this: DeAngelo Hall retired in 2017 as one of the best cornerbacks of the last decade and a half. Therefore, if anyone knows what it takes to be a top talent at the position, it's Hall.

Now working for NFL Network, Hall recently listed his top 10 cornerbacks in the 2020 free-agent class with Houston Texans star defensive back Bradley Roby coming in at the No. 2 spot.

“I was thisclose to putting Roby at No. 1, but he isn't as consistent as his former Broncos teammate. Roby bet on himself last season by signing a one-year contract with the Houston Texans, and it paid off for both parties. The 27-year-old cornerback, who I expect will get a long-term deal this offseason, is an asset on the perimeter or in the slot. He's a versatile corner who can make an immediate impact for the team that signs him,” Hall wrote.

After spending his first five seasons with the Denver Broncos, the former Ohio State Buckeye signed with Houston this past offseason.

Roby would make an immediate impact for the Texans recording 38 tackles, eight passes defended, two interceptions and two tackles for a loss.

Unfortunately, a lingering hamstring injury would force Roby to miss six games in the middle of the season which severely limited his overall production.

And although the Texans' pass defense as a whole was uninspiring, the sixth-year corner is likely in for a pretty sizable deal with whatever team decides to sign him.

Roby comes in at No. 2 just behind four-time Pro Bowler Chris Harris and just above Dallas Cowboys corner Byron Jones.
