The Houston Texans have made their decision regarding recovering running back D'Onta Foreman. According to John Newby of 247Sports, the Texans activated the 22-year old two days before the deadline as he would end up on the injured reserve list if they failed to do so.

Foreman has expressed his confidence in returning to the playing field. He has also practiced in anticipation of his return to the team.

It has been a year since the Texas product last played.  In Week 11 of the 2017 season against the Arizona Cardinals, Foreman suffered a torn Achilles after scoring on a 34-yard touchdown run. The Texans eventually won 31-21, but they also lost Foreman for the season in the process.

Two days after being injured, the Texans announced that Foreman had been placed on the injured reserve list. He finished his 2017 campaign with 327 rushing yards, six receptions for 83 yards and two total touchdowns.

Cornerback Natrell Jamerson has been waived by the Texans to make room for Foreman as per the team's official Twitter account.

The Texans drafted Foreman in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft. The team expected him to team up with their feature running back Lamar Miller.

In his college days, Foreman delivered for the Texans Longhorns. He had a magical run with the team in 2016 with 2,028 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. Foreman was named as a Consensus All-American as a result of his impressive performance.

In three years with the Longhorns, Foreman totaled 2,774 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns. He also had 13 receptions for 146 yards.
