The Houston Texans are in the midst of a rebuild, having offloaded some key players during the offseason. The next man up to be shipped out of Houston has been rumored to be wide receiver Brandin Cooks. Recent reports suggest that multiple teams are interested in acquiring Cooks from the Texans, but their interest may wane when they hear the reported asking price for the speedy wide receiver. Per Mike Fisher, Texans GM Nick Caserio is reportedly hoping to get a second-round pick in exchange for Cooks, a lofty asking price for the 28-year-old.

Cooks is a talented wide receiver, but whether or not teams feel he warrants a second-round pick remains to be seen. Fisher reports that the Dallas Cowboys don't view Cooks as a No. 1 wide receiver, which could cause some hesitancy to deal such valuable draft capital in order to land him. After trading Amari Cooper to Cleveland for a fifth-round pick, it would seem illogical for the Cowboys to ship off a second-rounder to land Cooks from the Texans.

Still, Cooks is one of the most valuable deep threats in all of football. He's topped the 1,000-yard threshold in all but two seasons in his 8-year NFL career. Last season with the Texans, Cooks hauled in a career-high 90 receptions for 1,037 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Despite having battled concussions in the past, Cooks has managed to suit up for 31 games over the past two years and has played in at least 14 games in all but his rookie season. The former Oregon State star faces an uncertain future in Houston, but if they maintain their asking price for the 28-year-old, he may just end up back with the Texans next season.
