Michael Gregory Mizanin, better known by his WWE alias “The Miz,” is reveling in the glory of his latest WWE Championship win this past weekend.
The Miz feels this latest victory earns him a spot on WWE's Mount Rushmore alongside Hollywood Hulk Hogan and John Cena:
“I am the first-ever 2-time Grand Slam champion,” Miz said, via TMZ. “That means I've held [the WWE Championship] title twice. The Intercontinental more than twice. The United States champion twice and Tag Team Championships twice.”
“I am the only one in the history of this business to be a 2-time Grand Slam champion. So in my opinion, I'm on the Mount Rushmore of WWE.”
As for the final spot? Miz said it can go to any of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin or “Nature Boy” Ric Flair.Naturally, Miz's inclusion of himself leaves off some of the most legendary names in the history of professional wrestling.Mark Calaway rose to the top of the business as The Undertaker, previously holding the esteemed undefeated record at Wrestlemania and becoming a staple of WWE's Attitude Era alongside Stone Cold and The Rock.Meanwhile, titans such as The Ultimate Warriors and “Macho Man” Randy Savage would also seem to merit consideration, as would current WWE executive Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H. Or, how about Triple H's good pal Shawn Michaels? Randy Orton? Andre The Giant? The Miz feels the diverse nature of his accomplishments cements his spot, particularly after his latest triumph at Elimination Chamber.
