In the last several days, Carolina Panthers Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen has continued to take significant steps forward in his recovery from a fracture of his surgically-repaired foot.

Olsen has taken that a step further this week with his increased involvement on the practice field that has led him being a full go for Thursday's practice.

This is yet another strong indication that Olsen is inching closer to being back in the fold for Week 6 action against the Washington Redskins. He has been sidelined since suffering the injury in the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys, which has chosen to put off surgery until after the season in order to be able to return to playing this year. He has yet to experience any type of setback along the way as he has instead gone through more involvement on the practice over the last couple of weeks.

Greg Olsen did indicate that he is a little sore in his foot, but that isn't much for him to not push through to work his way back onto the field. He has been quite adamant this week that will be able to play in Sunday's game, which is something that is becoming more likely with each practice he takes under his belt in the process. What will be quite indicative of his availability will be whether he can follow it up with participation on the practice field on Friday.

His imminent return to the mix should provide a significant uplift to the offense as he has proven to be one of Cam Newton’s favorite target in the passing game. This has played a major part in him putting together some productive campaigns that saw him become the first tight end in NFL history to notch more than 1,000 receiving yards in three consecutive seasons. He has recorded more than 60 catches five straight years that have all come with the Panthers where he has been a primary feature in the passing game.
