After what seems like forever, Warner Bros. finally dropped the first trailer for Black Adam with The Rock Dwayne Johnson playing the titular anti-hero. With it comes an expansion the DC Extended Universe hasn't seen in its short history. Along with that is what seems to be a transfusion into the cinematic universe that has been constantly behind that of Marvel in the race.

Without a doubt, the Black Adam trailer itself is one filled with non-stop action and excitement. It starts with The Rock narrating how his son sacrificed himself to save him as he lays in his arms lifeless. At that point, it was revealed that Adam was imprisoned and spent the last few millennia locked away from the world.

But that won't be the case for much longer as certain scenes show Black Adam being let loose from his prison and getting rid of several mercenaries in an electrifying fashion. After that, fans everywhere are introduced to another pantheon of DC heroes in the form of Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Cyclone, and Atom Smasher. They are collectively known as the Justice Society.

In the comics, the Justice Society preceded the much-more popular Justice League by a few decades. The first generation of this group first came together during World War II and continued on as senior members of DC's superhero community guiding their much younger counterparts to become exemplary in protecting others.

In the Black Adam trailer, it's understood that the Justice Society intends to bring the antihero in and make him part of their ranks. This notion goes against The Rock's character as he prefers to deal with challenges from a gray area, and not the clear-cut black and white moral code that clearly separates heroes and villains.

Much of the trailer is filled with action scenes that involve Black Adam fighting tech-based henchmen on speeders and the DC antihero making short work of a fighter jet. While details on the plot and the primary antagonist are still scarce, it won't be long now before everyone can see what Johnson has done with this character as it will premiere in October of this year.
