Oklahoma City Thunder big man Nerlens Noel suffered a very scary head injury during his team's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night, as he took an elbow to the face from Timberwolves wing Andrew Wiggins while trying to contest a dunk and then took a hard fall.

Noel lay relatively motionless on the floor for an extended period of time while trainers and teammates huddled around him.

The 24-year-old was then taken off of the court on a stretcher.

Of course, everyone is interested in the well-being of Noel and is awaiting good news on the kid, but right now, Thunder head coach Billy Donovan does not have any updates on Noel other than the fact that he is currently in the hospital:

Noel, who scored six points in six minutes before exiting the game, signed a one-year deal with the Thunder over the summer.

On the year, Noel is averaging five points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and one steal over 13.9 minutes per game while shooting 58.6 percent from the floor and 72.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The Malden, Ma. native, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Kentucky, was originally selected by the then-New Orleans Hornets with the sixth overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, but he was immediately traded to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Noel did not play at all in the following season due to a knee injury, making his debut during the 2014-15 campaign and registering 9.9 points, 8.1 boards, 1.9 blocks and 1.8 steals across 30.8 minutes a night, making 46.2 percent of his field-goal attempts and 60.9 percent of his foul shots.

Unfortunately, Noel was just not able to stay healthy from that point forward, and after two-and-a-half years with the 76ers, he was dealt to the Dallas Mavericks midway through the 2016-17 campaign. He ended up playing in just 52 games over one-and-a-half seasons in Dallas before signing with Oklahoma City this past summer.
