Draft-pick trades have already commenced for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who still own several selections along with the second overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. After trading the 30th pick to the Denver Nuggets for a future pick and JaMychal Green, they have more plans for their 12th overall selection.

According to ESPN's Jonathan Givony, the Thunder are “aggressively pursuing” trades with the hopes of moving up. Two of the players they are eyeing are Jaden Ivey and Shaedon Sharpe:

The Thunder are said to be aggressively pursuing trade conversations for this pick, seeking to package it with future assets or existing OKC players in order to move into the mid-lottery, with players including Jaden Ivey and Shaedon Sharpe believed to be among the potential prospects they covet.

The Thunder's mutual interest in Sharpe has been previously reported. The super-athletic guard has a very intriguing game built around his explosiveness and scoring repertoire, though his lack of experience worries teams. Ivey shined as a sophomore with Purdue last season. His offensive game is also explosive and exciting but concerns about his defense linger.

The second pick gives the Thunder the chance to add a true blue-chip prospect. Having more draft capital behind that gives them a great chance to find another potential star. Because of the immense amount of draft picks they hold, they should be able to trade up for anyone they want.

With so many teams in the mid-lottery range of the 2022 NBA Draft looking to trade their pick, the Thunder should not have a hard time finding a trade partner.
